Brian Hamzavi, MD, is a New York-trained orthopaedic surgeon bringing a wealth of experience to Hammer Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Palm Bay, Florida.
Dr. Hamzavi began his medical journey with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. He later earned a master’s degree in medical science and medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He completed his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at Mt Sinai Hospital, formally know as St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York. Dr. Hamzavi also served as the orthopaedic surgery chief resident at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital. He has since specialized in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, particularly those involving knee pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, wrist pain, hand pain, elbow pain, and back pain.
After residency in New York, Dr Hamzavi relocated to Florida to complete a sports medicine fellowship at the University of South Florida and Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa.
While in the Tampa Bay area, Dr. Hamzavi provided coverage of local high schools, the University of Tampa Soccer team, St. Leo University, the University of South Florida Football and Soccer teams, as well as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He welcomes patients of all ages, including younger pediatric patients.
In addition to conventional orthopaedic treatments, like minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Hamzavi specializes in advanced regenerative medicine techniques, including stem cells and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), offering innovative solutions for various musculoskeletal conditions.
